Bruun Rasmussen Publishing

The house of Bruun Rasmussen has been in the business of presenting art, antiques, design and collectibles to the public since 1948. Bruun Rasmussen, therefore, commands many years of experience in handling the various subject areas in which the auction house is engaged on a daily basis.

Throughout the years the company has produced a considerable number of catalogues that have become ever bulkier and more and more colourful featuring more and more photographs. Furthermore, Bruun Rasmussen has issued several books on the many auctions that have been conducted in the house as well as a number of other publications, e.g. the cultural magazine entitled AuktionsLiv (Auction Living).

In 2006, in continuation of these activities within the presentation of art and culture to the public and in order to further underpin and strengthen its communicative efforts, Bruun Rasmussen decided to establish Bruun Rasmussen Publishing.

The objective is to publish scholarly titles with a pronounced focus on conveying the subject matter to a wide readership, drawing on Bruun Rasmussen's long-standing tradition in the presentation of art and culture to the public.

Værket på væggen. Et kunsthistorisk essay om Asger Jorns Dragørværk [The painting on the wall. An essay on Asger Jorn's Dragør work] by Tine Blicher-Moritz

This book tells the story of the almost unknown wall painting by Asger Jorn, one of his most colourful and explosive. In 2007 the wall painting was taken down from its place on a hall wall in a house in the small town of Dragør by Copenhagen and restored and transfered to canvas by museum conservators. Tine Blicher-Moritz, who is keeper at the modern collection at Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, recounts in "Værket på væggen" the story of Jorn's wall painting and his spontaneous work methods. She also examines the close relation Jorn had with the owner of the house in Dragør, Robert Dahlmann Olsen - a relation which until now has not been treated thoroughly in Danish art historic research.

Moderne dansk møbeldesign [Modern Danish Furniture Design ] by Per H. Hansen and Klaus Petersen

Professors Per H. Hansen and Klaus Petersen, both of whom collect Danish furniture classics personally, have co-authored the work Moderne dansk møbeldesign – Tendenser, hammerslag og historie [Modern Danish Furniture Design – Currents, Hammer Prices and History], published in collaboration with Gyldendal Publishers. The book presents the history of Danish furniture design and the trends within the hammer prices of modern Danish furniture classics. This profusely illustrated work appears October 28th 2007.

In this comprehensive work, three of the Denmark's leading postcard collectors offer the reader a highly detailed introduction to the historical development of the postcard, from the earliest picture greetings to the golden age of the postcard in the beginning of the 20th century.
