Shares in Swedish auction house

The auction house Anders Antik is situated in Landskrona and, in relatively few years, it has grown to become one of the most important auction houses in southern Sweden. Run by a young staff, the auction house is known for its high professional qualifications and its art broker skills. With the aim of improving its competencies and becoming better equipped for the competition with the other Swedish auction houses, Anders Antik has begun cooperation with Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers.

In this respect, it is of special importance that, in the future, we will be able to use the online system of Bruun Rasmussen, an efficient tool in the purchase and sale of art and furniture and household effects, reaching a much larger clientele than we do today”, says managing director Søren Fingal.

Strengthening of the Scandinavian auction market

With the acquisition of a larger block of shares in the Swedish auction house Anders Antik, Bruun Rasmussen is further strengthening its position on the Scandinavian auction market. With the bridge connecting Sweden and Denmark, the Øresund region has experienced tremendous development and growth, making it natural for Bruun Rasmussen to escalate its activities in the southern Sweden.

“It is not a coincidence that we are now becoming joint owners of Anders Antik. It is a well-reputed auction house, centrally placed and with high standards for working as brokers of art and antiques”, says Jesper Bruun Rasmussen who is looking forward to cooperating with the Swedes. At the same time, he sees this involvement as joint owners as a natural part of the efforts of Bruun Rasmussen to strengthen the Scandinavian auction market in the competition from abroad. “The stronger the cooperation in the Nordic countries is, the greater the scope for setting professional and quality standards for the auctions”.

According to plans, the auction house in Landskrona will primarily hold online auctions following the same model as the Bruun Rasmussen online auctions. Twice a year however, Anders Antik will hold classic auctions of art and antiques as usual.
