Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers has, with effect from 1 January 2006, acquired shares in the Swedish auction house Anders Antik A/S. In that way, Bruun Rasmussen is entrenching its position on the Scandinavian market for art and antiques. Cooperation across ØresundThe auction house in Landskrona will primarily hold online auctions following the same model as the Bruun Rasmussen online auctions. Anders Antik’s online auctions will be conducted as an integrated part of Bruun Rasmussen’s online auctions which means that the items from the two auction houses will be listed side by side at future online auctions. You can read more about how this kind of collaboration works here. Twice a year however, Anders Antik will hold classic auctions of art and antiques as usual. Strengthening of the Scandinavian auction marketWith the acquisition of a larger block of shares in the Swedish auction house Anders Antik, Bruun Rasmussen is further strengthening its position on the Scandinavian auction market. With the bridge connecting Sweden and Denmark, the Øresund region has experienced tremendous development and growth, making it natural for Bruun Rasmussen to escalate its activities in the southern Sweden. “It is not a coincidence that we are now becoming joint owners of Anders Antik. It is a well-reputed auction house, centrally placed and with high standards for working as brokers of art and antiques”, says Jesper Bruun Rasmussen who is looking forward to cooperating with the Swedes. At the same time, he sees this involvement as joint owners as a natural part of the efforts of Bruun Rasmussen to strengthen the Scandinavian auction market in the competition from abroad. “The stronger the cooperation in the Nordic countries is, the greater the scope for setting professional and quality standards for the auctions”. |
